Faculty and students described the lecture as highly informative and showed great interest during the question-and-answer session. This academic session proved to be an important step in strengthening academic collaboration between the Institute of Biochemistry and the University of Swat.
International Conference on Human Genetics and Genomics
Dr. Ali Akbar recently presented at the International Conference on Human Genetics and Genomics held at Islamia College University, Peshawar, representing the University of Swat.
His talk focused on Pashtun genetic ancestry, exploring the intersection of historical narratives, particularly the works of Niamat Ullah Harvi and Akhun Darweza Baba, with modern DNA evidence from the community-based Afghan-Pakistan DNA ancestry project.
The presentation highlighted how integrating historical scholarship with contemporary genomic data can provide deeper insights into population history. The event also provided an excellent platform for engaging with leading researchers and experts in the field of OMIC sciences
